Vertical Search Engines
Most search engines are general. They provide tons of information but they try to cover everything for everybody. A vertical search engine is much different. The owner of a vertical search engine will only spider and index sites that are on a narrow topic or category. This limits how much information you and find, but it also makes it much easier to find exactly what you are looking for if it is within the topic covered by the search engine. Some think the future of search engines lies in the use of the large general search engines where you will find the small vertical search providers and then continue on to their sites to conduct your search and find what you are looking for.
